The Family
MEET SOLITA
Her name was Soledad, and she was a Filipino-Spanish-Portuguese mestiza. She was fondly called "Solita" by her family and closest friends. Soledad Perreira Velez was the youngest child of Rosario Pereira, of the movie "Rosario". She had 3 children, Chiqui, Manny, who is known as "MVP", and Tessie.
She worked as a cashier in Syvel's in Escolta, which was an upscale department store then. There, she met her future husband who was always well dressed like any other Pampangueño would be. He was a messenger then who would soon become the president of Traders Royal Bank.
They married and settled in Little Baguio, San Juan, Rizal. There she worked tirelessly keeping the house clean and it was then she discovered her love for cooking & baking.
Solita's legacy is kept alive by the recipes she left with the family. She is greatly remembered through her recipes and her impeccable handwriting which is now reflected in our logo.
It is with great pride that we introduce who she was to everyone. We hope you enjoy her recipes as much as we did when we were growing up.
